Ashlynn Conner, a pretty ‘All-American’ girl, was driven to suicide by bullies at just 10 years old.

The day before she died, Ashlynn came home in tears.

Kids had bullied Ashlynn for years, calling her a “slut,” “fat,” and “ugly,” so that day’s incident seemed relatively minor to Stacy: The girls had poked fun at Ashlynn’s initials, “A.C.,” saying it sounded like “air conditioner.”

Three different teachers at the school had told Ashlynn to “stop tattling” after she reached out for help, the girl told her mother. It was the Thursday before Veterans Day, and Stacy told Ashlynn she should go straight to the principal the following Monday if the bullying continued.

“But she didn’t want to wait until Monday,” Stacy told The Daily.

Ashlynn’s older sister found her hanging by her neck from a scarf in a bedroom closet on Friday night. She was pronounced dead before 9 p.m. at a local hospital, another inconceivably young victim of elementary school bullying.

I want to cry. According to the article, “suicide rates among 10- to 14-year-olds have skyrocketed more than 50 percent over the last three decades.”

So sad.

Ten. Fucking ten years old.

Meanwhile, a “license to bully” bill has been passed by the Michgan Senate as long as the bullying is based on “moral conviction.”

This is the culture we live in.

And it’s not going to get better unless we fight it.

I have been where this little girl was. I stepped back, I survived, I made it through. A lot of kids don’t; a lot of them can’t. I wouldn’t wish it on anyone.

Actually if you’ll excuse me I’m just going to go and cry for a bit now because I can’t stand that this keeps happening and no one does shit but talk about how tragic it is and how oh goodness how could they not see it coming they thought it was just harmless teasing from other kids they do it all of the time who knew who knew?

fuck.

When she’s 10?! CALLED A SLUT?! Are you fucking kidding me? As if it’s not bad enough that she’s being bullied at all, they’re acting like they’re fucking 16?! I can’t handle this. I’m so sick of no one doing anything about it. It’s like “oh, well, it’s not my kid, so I’ll pretend like I care but not do shit about it, as long as I look good.”

Bullying isn’t like in 1950’s sitcoms anymore where a bully steals lunch money or gives a swirly and the main character shakes it off or finds some funny way to get revenge and stand up. Bullying is MURDER these days!

You put someone in jail for stabbing, gun shot, mugging, murder! These kids are being tormented into death. You put someone in jail for abuse. These kids ARE being verbally abused! Abuse is abuse! Someone bullies… you sit back and twiddle your thumbs and don’t do shit, even though it’s as harmful as the previously listed crimes, and it’s taking lives far too young! DEAR AMERICAN JUSTICE SYSTEM: I CAN’T EVEN PUT INTO WORDS HOW FUCKING DYSFUNCTIONAL YOU ARE. I can’t even put how much this angers me into words except to curse and throw out disrespectful phrases for a few pages. Why can’t we pass some bills that work? Taking away rights? What about taking away happiness and lives? What about the right to feel safe and happy? Taking away the right to express “opinions” which are really just cruel statements isn’t a problem. It’s not like you’re taking away their right to express opinions at all—if you’re that desperate to express an opinion, you can fucking say it politely. there is no need to drive these kids to suicide! You know what you’re doing by “preserving these rights”? You’re taking away far more important rights like the right to be happy, healthy, safe, and to live.

No, wait, God forbid you take away a right to “express oneself” even if it’s done cruelly. As long as you’re protecting these kids while the other ones are suffering and dying. Sure. That’s cool. I hate the American Justice System so much.

An old Italian gentleman lived alone in New Jersey . He wanted to plant his annual tomato garden, but it was very difficult work, as the ground was hard. His only son, Vincent, who used to help him, was in prison. The old man wrote a letter to his son and described his predicament:

Dear Vincent, I am feeling pretty sad because it looks like I won’t be able to plant my tomato garden this year. I’m just getting too old to be digging up a garden plot. I know if you were here my troubles would be over. I know you would be happy to dig the plot for me, like in the old days. Love, Papa

A few days later he received a letter from his son.

Dear Papa,   Don’t dig up that garden. That’ s where the bodies are buried. Love, Vinnie

At 4 a.m. The next morning, FBI agents and local police arrived and dug up the entire area without finding any bodies. They apologized to the old man and left. That same day the old man received another letter from his son.

Dear Papa, Go ahead and plant the tomatoes now. That’s the best I could do under the circumstances. Love you, Vinnie
